Bio

Jose is an experienced Electrical Engineer who works at Natural Power as a HV Appointed Person and Site Manager. In his role as Site Manager, Jose provides field services and manages the operational safety of his clients' assets, including maintenance, electrical network operations, and inspections

Aim of the day

Jose’s aim was to conduct a follow-up inspection after the 4-year maintenance of an electrical system alongside the Head of Asset Management, Alistair Partlett. The inspection aims to ensure that
the system has settled down and is operating correctly after the recent maintenance work.

What got you into Electrical Engineering?

"My family had an electrical engineering business so I grew up surrounded by all
these electrical devices and motors, transformers, PLC’s. Being in this environment
is what sparked in electricity and control systems.".

What are the biggest challenges you face in your role?

"One of the biggest challenges we come across in the job is the weather. Most of the
wind farms are in quite exposed and elevated areas. We have to check the
weather forecast constantly and risk assess if it’s safe enough to do the job".
